“Hi! My name is Marissa Rodriguez. I recently graduated from Mercer University as a Master’s Level Clinician with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about supporting children and their families as they navigate life’s challenges. Striving to offer a warm, non-judgmental space, clients feel understood and have a safe place to learn skills enabling them to live happier, more fulfilling lives.
My clinical experience includes working with youth and young adults facing various life challenges including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, trauma, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem concerns, identity issues, school stress, and life transitions.
As a Registered Behavior Technician with 4 years experience, I help children with Autism ages 2-7 build social, communication, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors. This experience has helped me master de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques. I really enjoy collaborating with families and finding best ways to support them and their child through difficult times.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based and collaborative. Consequently, as a team, you and I will focus on leveraging your inherent strengths and resilience rather than concentrating on your weaknesses.
In addition, the modalities I use include Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and art-based interventions.
Whether leading individual or group sessions, I aim to make therapy engaging and interactive through games and experiential activities. My goal is to meet you where you are to help you build healthy coping mechanisms you can use outside sessions.
Favorite Pastimes: Crocheting, reading, watching new movies, playing video games, and spending quality time with my friends and family.”
