My name is Laura Haines and I started my career in South Florida twelve years ago. In addition to Florida, I have been providing mental health services to individuals throughout 5 states in the Southeast United States for three years.
I have always had a desire to empower and encourage others which lead me to become a Mental Health Counselor. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
I began my counseling career as a Trauma therapist for victims of crime and served as the Lead Sexual Assault Therapist for one of the largest counties in Florida. I then began serving individuals and families in my private practice in Florida serving special populations including survivors of abuse and trauma, Veterans and their families, adolescents/adults experiencing self-harm, eating disorders, Body Dysmorphia, and severe and persistent mental illness.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina and have dual certification as a Veterans’ Behavioral Health Practitioner from the United States Department of Defense and Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
I follow the Rogerian theory based on:
•Optimistic view of humanity
•Every individual has value
•Unconditional positive regard
I also offer various classes and support groups, please check our groups’ tab to see what I currently offer.

"Laura helped my 14 year old daughter thru a very difficult time and could not have been more understanding and kind. My daughter shared more with Laura than she has with anyone else including our family. She is incredibly insightful and I would recommend that anyone having trouble with their child talk to her. My daughter felt warm and comfortable with her and saw her as a person she could trust. I am so thankful we found Laura."
"She is terrific. Very knowledgeable, great communication style and incredible listener. So supportive, helpful, insightful and warm. Works on the deep underlying issues not just the surface ones."
"She was a lifeline for me at a very difficult time in my life. I called three therapists and she was the only one to speak with me. She could hear the despair in my voice and fit me in the next day. I started feeling better after our first session and I can already tell a marked difference in my unhealthy thoughts. She has helped me to discover new learning techniques to be mindful of when stressors now occur. I have come a long way. I like that she will give you points to remember that I can take with me for the week. This is the first time a therapist has done this for me."
Laura is also very active at educating our community on various subjects especially Trauma. Trauma could be anything from parental divorce, family conflicts to bullying or abuse.
We are very fortunate to have Laura on our team as she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
