My name is Laura Haines and I started my career in South Florida twelve years ago. In addition to Florida, I have been providing mental health services to individuals throughout 5 states in the Southeast United States for three years.
I have always had a desire to empower and encourage others which lead me to become a Mental Health Counselor. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
I began my counseling career as a Trauma therapist for victims of crime and served as the Lead Sexual Assault Therapist for one of the largest counties in Florida. I then began serving individuals and families in my private practice in Florida serving special populations including survivors of abuse and trauma, Veterans and their families, adolescents/adults experiencing self-harm, eating disorders, Body Dysmorphia, and severe and persistent mental illness.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina and have dual certification as a Veterans’ Behavioral Health Practitioner from the United States Department of Defense and Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
I follow the Rogerian theory based on:
•Optimistic view of humanity
•Every individual has value
•Non-judgmental environment
•Genuineness
•Unconditional positive regard
